Going Vegan for a Week – Prelude
What is Veganism (Vegetarianism) ?
Veganism is a type of vegetarian diet that excludes meat, eggs, dairy products and all other animal-derived ingredients. Many vegans also do not eat foods that are processed using animal products, such as refined white sugar and some wines. Most vegans also avoid the use of all products tested on animals, as well as animal-derived non-food products, such as leather, fur and wool.
Vegan refers to either a person who follows this way of eating, or to the diet itself.
What is this Post about ? ha ?
It’s just that I decided to become Vegan for a week, just to try a new experiment, and because I always wanted to see what happens.
So I’ll be Updating this post everyday for a week with what I do during this week realted to me being Vegan, and I will post what I eat everyday.
Wednesday 19/10/2011 - Day One
I started the whole thing today in the Morning.
Breakfast:
- An apple and some Juice.
Lunch:
- Broad Bean Salad consists of :
Broad Beans, Homos Beans, Tomatoes, Cucumber, Purslaneو Parsley, Olive Oil, Lemon, Salt, Sumac.
Dinner :
None
Thursday 20/10/2011 - Day Two
Breakfast:
- Homos & Broad Beans
Lunch :
- Deep Fried Potatoes with fried Coriander – in arabic it’s called (بطاطا بكزبرة)
Dinner :
None
Friday 21/10/2011 - Day Three
Breakfast :
- 2 Sandwiches of Olive Oil and Thyme.
Lunch :
- Fried Cauliflower with Homos.
Dinner:
None

- I noticed several changes just after 3 days :
- I became more energetic.
- I didn’t need to take afternoon naps during those three day.
- My Stomach seems more comfortable and my digestion has improved.
- No heartburn.
- I miss Shaneeneh !!

Saturday 22/10/2011 - Day Four
Breakfast:
- An apple and a Banana then Some tea.
Lunch:
- Lentil Soup (شوربة عدس)
Dinner:
None.
Sunday 23/10/2011 - Day Five
Breakfast:
Broad Beans and Homos.
Lunch:
- Kushary (Egyprian food consists of Lentil, Rise, Macaroni and Hot Sauce )
Dinner:
None.
Monday 24/10/2011 - Day Six
Breakfast:
- Cocktail Juice and some fruits.
Lunch:
- Kushary from the day before.
Dinner:
- Salad.
Tuesday 25/10/2011 - Day Seven
Breakfast:
- Homos and Falafel.
Lunch:
- 3 types of salad and Freekeh Soup.
Dinner:
None.
