Using Google Chrome “PDF viewer” in Chromium
As an Ubuntu user and a Open-Source enthusiast, I prefer to use Open-Source applications on my Ubuntu Linux, and so I use Chromium instead of Google Chrome.
For you guys who don’t know Chromium it’s the Open-Source version of Google Chrome. Being an Open-Source version, it has its down sides, Google chrome has Embedded – Custom made – Flash Plugin, it also has the embedded PDF viewer. It is possible to embed the Adobe Reader with Chromium through various methods and workarounds, but it is still heavy and slow, and I prefer the Google Chrome’s PDF Viewer, as it is lite and fast and eventually it does the Job.
And so here you go Ubuntu Users, I’m going to tell you how to embed Google Chrome’s PDF viewer in Chromium.
Step One : Go to Google Chrome’s Download page

Step Four: Go to opt/google/chrome and you’ll find a file there called libpdf.so, extract that file onto the Desktop and copy it.

Step Five: Now go to ~/usr/lib/chromium-browser and paste the copied file. (NOTE: you may need administrative privilege so open the directory as Administrator)

And Voila you’re done, now just go to your Chromium and in the URL type about:plugins, check that Chrome PDF viewer is Enabled and allowed.
